National Public Library Receives Starlink Internet Equipment Through SpaceX Donation
Monrovia, Liberia Tuesday September 29, 2026 — The Center for National Documents and Records Agency (CNDRA),or the National Archives through the National Public Library of Liberia, has received a Starlink internet equipment package donated by SpaceX Corporation to strengthen the Library’s digital connectivity, research, educational programs, and public services.
The initiative was launched following a recommendation from the Public Diplomacy Section of the Embassy of the United States of America in Liberia, which encouraged the National Public Library to apply for a Starlink internet package from SpaceX.
Following the recommendation, the National Public Library submitted the required application and supporting documentation in accordance with SpaceX’s eligibility requirements.
After a successful review of the application, SpaceX approved the request and donated a complete Starlink equipment package to the National Public Library to enhance its internet connectivity and expand access to digital services.
The equipment was subsequently delivered to Liberia through DHL and includes one year of complimentary Starlink internet service.
To ensure the sustainability of the initiative beyond the initial complimentary service period, the U.S. Embassy’s Public Diplomacy Section has committed to supporting the National Public Library with the annual renewal of the Starlink subscription.
Receiving the donated equipment, the Director of the National Public Library, Mr. Christian J. Jlatuh, expressed appreciation to SpaceX Corporation and the U.S. Embassy, particularly its Public Diplomacy Section, for the support.
Mr. Jlatuh said the Starlink connectivity will significantly enhance the operations and services of the National Public Library, particularly the American Shelf, digital services, research and educational programs, internet access, and the continued development of the Library’s Digital and E-Library platforms.
He noted that improved internet connectivity will provide greater opportunities for patrons, researchers, students, and the general public to access information and digital resources available through the Library.
Meanwhile, the Director General of the Center for National Documents and Records Agency, Hon. D. Nelson Bearngar, commended Mr. Jlatuh for his creativity, initiative, and proactive efforts in securing the support.
Director General Bearngar also expressed appreciation to the Public Diplomacy Section of the Embassy of the United States of America in Liberia for its continued support to the National Archives and its various programs and initiatives.
He encouraged heads of departments and sections within the Agency to remain innovative, proactive, and forward-thinking by identifying opportunities and developing initiatives that can contribute to the growth, effectiveness, and institutional capacity of the CNDRA.
Director General Bearngar further expressed appreciation to the U.S. Embassy’s Public Diplomacy Section for its support and to SpaceX Corporation for the Starlink donation.
He said the initiative represents an important step toward strengthening digital access, research, learning, connectivity, and information services at the National Public Library.
The CNDRA looks forward to maximizing the benefits of the Starlink connectivity to further improve the quality and accessibility of services provided by the National Public Library.
